The Anti-Imperialist Orientation of De-Growth
The environmentalist movement comes under a lot of flack for its middle classism. What we need is, and this is what de-growth brings to the table, is a direct attack on the production system. This system is driving both inequality, impoverishment, and ecological breakdown. And I think that's the kind of narrative that the environmental movement needs to shift to. Or otherwise, honestly, risk irrelevance. If justice is not part of their conversation, then we lose. It's as simple as that. Is this social justice movement interested in de-growth?
