The Spaceport Landing Pit

250,000 colonists were left stranded on Thor after the company that colonized them went bankrupt in ten years. About a thousand who were too poor to make a fresh star elsewhere and too tough for Fenery to kill, refused evacuation. They took over all the equipment and installations the Fenery company had abandoned and tried to make a living out of the planet. At least they stayed alive.
