The Paradox of Moral Courage in Modern Conservatism
It's an awful paradox, isn't it? That I have trouble getting my head round and yet I understand how and why it's happening. The electoral college system gives him that special advantage that he can play to certain groups in certain parts of America. It does seem to me that a lack of moral courage is the defining feature of modern conservatism. And we see it with the Brexit issue where many conservative politicians went along withBrexit or they didn't agree with it. You see it again with with Republicans in America. This just seems extraordinary to me that that it is it's a it's a sort of human failing more than any kind of big picture policy issue that is letting this happen.
