The goal was to cause Russia's economy to all but collapse. That would force Putin to sue for peace because, well, he'd be broke. Mr. Biden said in March of 2022 that this plan is going to work. In fact, the Wall Street Journal says while Moscow has been economically wounded, the country is actually growing. According to a Canadian media outlet CBC News, internal polls and research inside of Russia show that not only are Russians still supportive of Putin,. But those who were originally opposed to the war now support it.
