Introduction
Craig Barrett started his career at Stanford, where he got his bachelor's, master's, and PhDs in material science. He taught as part of the material science faculty until 1974 when he joined Intel. Craig became an Intel vice president in 1984, a senior VP in 1987, an executive VP in 1990 elected to the Intel Board of Directors in 1992. And then CEO in 1998 and chairman of the board in 2005; retired from the board in May 2009.
