Brown University economist Emily Oster writes about using data to inform how we parent. We know that there's clearly very large socioeconomic differences in both desires and outcomes. Women with more education, higher income women tend to be more likely to want to breastfeed. They're also more likely to be successful with breastfeeding because of maternity leave.
