History of France and the Jacobins

On August 4th, 1789, feudalism was officially abolished in France. The old system of nobility and aristocracy was to be replaced with a new system. It took two years to write the formal constitution of France. A moderate constitution was made and adopted on September 3rd, 1791. This was France's first ever written constitution, and turned France into a constitutional monarchy. After more years of financial crises and inefficiency, the French Revolution ended,. with the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte as military leader.
