In the immediate wake of these elections, and a, the kind of high profile loss in virginia, immediately wright this became a question of messaging for the democratic establishment. Is like, how did we screw up our messaging? Oh, the progressors are the ones to blame. People who talk about race are to blame. And i think the democrats, because they have so much more of a diverse constituency, they're not just, they can't just have one note around races on their whit supremacy. They've got to be much more complex, nuanced and it's hard to just come up with one message that's going to hit home for all of them.
