The exact kind of radio equipment that she had on board is still disputed to this day. Earhart could only communicate on a limited amount of frequencies. She removed the 250 foot radio antenna from the plane because it was too difficult to use, but also because it was just so heavy. Neither Earhart nor Noonan knew Morse code.
