The Art Ho Aesthetic
McBling is an aesthetic that started out within the black community specifically the black hip-hop community. Art Ho was an internet born aesthetic from the mid 2010s invented on tumblr by the users Mars and Jam. A lot of online aesthetics grow in tandem with being commodified. They are sold to us as existing communities even when they're not. As Terry Nguyen writes for Vox trends are the illusion of a trend benefit the fast fashion companies making products that aesthetically align with such fleeting fancies.
