Rachel Anskim was working with Wittgenstein in the 1940s. She says Descartes thought that because he could never be wrong about who he was referring to, I must be referring to some special secret part of himself. This is a Wittgensteinian thought and it connects with exactly the kind of virtue ethics that Constantine has been talking about. It allows her to give an account of self consciousness, which is a really thorny philosophical topic without saying, oh, it's consciousness of herself.
