The Barker-Karpus Kidnapping

Edward Bremer was kidnapped by the Barker-Karpus gang in 1930s Illinois. The FBI is immediately all over this kidnapping because of Bremer's high profile and his connection to the literal president. After ransom money has been paid, agents grill Bremer for any details he might remember about his inductors. He says that he could hear dogs barking, young children playing and quote, the voice of an older woman praising the criminals holding him hostage.
