The Apreciation of Time Over Money
This is not some one whois refusing to provide for their family, or refusing to be responsible. They are deliberately trying to become independently wealthy, so that they don't have to work daily to pay for their needs and take care of their family. The whole thing of valuing time over money is huge. It's a major philosophical underpinning of the movement. To take on this life style, you're essentially giving up on materialism. For a christian, our retirement is in heaven. Our reward is there, not here on earth.
