In New York, I had to be incredibly vigilant, incredibly smart and not trusting. This is a completely ungoverned, unregulated world,. There were no game runners to my knowledge that were women and men that have been doing it for 20 years. Everyone was trying to come and run a scam or run a hustle. It took me from a somewhat trusting, slightly naive woman to being much more hardened and familiar with how the world works.
