Bill Mitchell's Parole Was Granted After Serving 20 Years in Prison

Mitchell was sentenced to life in prison for each of the murders. He had been granted parole after serving just 20 years, which meant he would only be forty four when released. Karen's family were outraged and called for the return of the death penalty. The high court agreed that bill mitchell should spend his natural life behind bars.
