J d: When i started in tech, like 20 years ago, one of the first things they taught me was to use tail and grep to find the problem on a server. And i don't do that any more. I always used to think of logging tools are like coffins. Things go in there, they very rarely come out,. You feel safe because it's there, but there's so much noise. Understanding what's important and what's not takes a lot of effort.
