The Difference Between Virtue and Vice
Virtue is a particular habit, and vice is also a particular habit. As habits are qualities, the differences of these habits will be qualities. There are differences which are not qualities. Does 5 differ from 3 by 2? No. It only exceeds it by 2. How indeed could 5 differ from3 by 2, when 5 contains 2? Likewise, a movement does not differ from a movement by a movement. Here is one whole opposed to another whole, and it is thus that the holes are distinguished.
