The Disadvantages of Self-Determination on the Internet

Young people who have invested a ton in an identity that has been built on the internet will talk about the difficulty that they have every time they try to take that identity out into the quote unquote real world. They'll express this great confusion of like you know i don't understand why i feel so weird when i ask people to refer to me as he him and to call me by this new name in the real world because online i feel great  and it's just doesn't make sense.
