There's this sense that we are part of nature, and there are things that will make our lives go better if we can recognise that. It became much more possible to recuperate Aristotle in the 20th century as strict rules of religion have become much less attractive. Most of us are now encouraged not to think that sex is a bad thing or that appetite for good food is abad thing. They're just facts of life - it's a matter of how we deal with them. So Abbihath of his philosophy is this concept of eudaimonia,. which is something which people grapple with a bit... sometimes translated as happiness.
