Tensions Rise between Annstrom and Hitler
In this chapter, tensions rise between Annstrom, the SA's chief of staff, and Hitler over the role of the SA in the German revolution and the upcoming war of conquest. Hitler tries to buy off Annstrom with a seat in his cabinet and a residence, but the two clash over military strategy and leadership. Hitler aims to keep the conservative army leaders on his side while also maintaining control over the SA.
