The Worst Person in the World and 500 Days of Summer

500 days of summer definitely feels like a part of its time but it was taking me back to this the year after the housing crisis. There's an absence of worldly societal issues in this movie in a way that we don't see a lot anymore these days. I think filmmakers feel the need to comment on some social political or just general like a societal issue that's currently important or currently affecting the way we form attachments with each other. It still feels like it takes place in this safe bubble where we have these interesting young singles living in beautiful apartments and they have jobs and nothing in the world matters a lot to them.
