I like to be entertained by software. Me too, but it's a little bit hard to sell your boss because you may as well say, I want to go to a movie theater for three days and watch movies. Conferences aren't the only way. You can get a subscription to like PluralSight or Egghead or Frontend Masters Or any of these like online video training sites for way cheaper than that. It takes up less time. There will always be so many music newer stuff that you can't use. Some new and exciting stuff never comes to pass. So that's true. But there's also a large spectrum of ways you can invest in training.
