Herodotus and the Spartans

Pausanias was the son of Clian Brotus and nephew of Leonidas. He took over as regent king for the young Plastarchus. In Herodotus' command were 5,000 Spartiates; 35,000 perioicoy and hellot light armed troops. Once the Athenians, Magarians, Plataians, Agenitans and Ubeans would join him, the Greek army stood at 110,000.
