What Is the Mission of Free Press?

Free Press was founded about 17, 18 years ago now with a goal of really uplifting a vision of media that would better serve our democracy. Media 2070 is 50 years from the founding of the project, which we founded in 2020. The Kerner Commission found that media and narrative were playing a major role in fomenting violence across the U.S. In 1969, when the Kerner Report was commissioned after,. you know, so much unrest across the country - Detroit to LA and beyond -- it's still going on today.
