Conservatives at a Handicap?

The left's dominant MO is deconstruction and subversion, right? Their aim is to untie the bonds that make people. And I wonder whether conservatives, because we're always trying to reestablish order, we have a problem letting loose a little bit or taking ourselves less seriously. That's actually part of the point: Human beings aren't supposed to be miserably shut off into drudgery. We have this way of convincing ourselves that life will be better if we all become sort of meaningless cogs in a machine.
