Narration Engages the Whole Mind

Narration, among other practices, laid a foundation for scholarly thinking that marked the educated men of the past. When students are given the opportunity to write or speak in their own words about what they have learned, their minds are engaged and working at a level that far exceeds the mental requirements of merely filling in the blank. Narration is infinitely flexible with scope for individual style, but it requires thinking.
