Getting Rid of the Complex Windings
So our wind is just a little spool of wire. We've added some flexible leads outside of the magnetics, just because it's easier to wire with those. And I know you can't see, so hopefully you're familiar with what standard windings are,. But they are tangled. It's not obvious where any wires are going. So that was one thing that was important to me in the earliest stages. The second thing is that when you're going at relatively high torque, at relatively low speed, almost all of your losses are in these windings. That required sort of a whole lot different way of thinking and called transverse flux.
