Is Rapid Decongestion a Good Thing?
Inpatient initiation for acute decompensated heart failure increased urine output by about 25% over a median of five days. The main duration of index hospitalization was 8.8 days in the acetylzolomide arm and 9.9 days in the control arm. In exploratory endpoints, the successful decongestion at discharge among patients who were alive favored the acetylZolomide group. And then finally safety, there was no difference in safety during the treatment phase or during the three month follow up.
