What Are the Effects of Secondary Strikes?
By the late 19th century, the right to engage in what was known as a simple strike was pretty well established. But workers wanted more than that; they turned to more aggressive tactics. They stationed mass pickets to deter strike breakers and sometimes to close off access to employer property. And they also engaged in secondary strikes and secondary boycotts.
