Brigham's great-grandfather, a Puritan named Ebenezer Godard, had been wickedly cursed by a neighbor over a property dispute. The family witnessed a vision in their oven fire of their infant's clothes burning in the flame. They also received a VHS tape that said, seven days. For Brigham Young, this story was passed down as fact and made the supernatural presence of God and the devil concrete realities here on earth.
