In the US we have we use 30 billion batteries and that's about 180 000 tons of waste does that include car batteries too yeah. 20 percent of the hazardous waste in this country is basically household batteries you know wow you have to think about that so if we can extend the life of the battery for example our research focuses on changing the cathode it would be three times than a regular alkaline battery right now.
