There's many people studying this and some large scale human studies looking at this. We don't know the mechanisms yet, but we have lots of hypotheses and speculations. One study is actually taking place between Colette by a group in Melbourne and Hong Kong. They're finding certain bacteria that are different between these populations that are known to be increased in IBD. And so they're starting to put together the pieces.
