How to Be a Productive Writer

I can work anywhere. It's a matter of massive disinterest to me. I don't feel wedded to my space at all. Though if I was given a choice as I occasionally am and have a good fortune to, I go away and lock myself in a nice hotel in a room by myself as long as possible. And that really focuses me. Well, it changes. When I started writing my first novel, White City Blue, I was very, very business-like about it.
