The Importance of Cars
Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson and Sewell K. Crocker bet $50 that they could drive a car from San Francisco to New York City in less than 90 days. The pair loaded up the car with everything they might need, including sleeping bags, blankets, rubber suits and coats. They also had an axe, a shovel, and other tools, a Kodak camera and a telescope,. A rifle, a shotgun, parts for the car, and as much gasoline as they could carry. Their final moment of calamity was just outside of Buffalo, where they had their first and only accident.
