Getting to Know Your Devs and Understanding User Research

Ask them how it's going. How are my executive summaries? How are these bullet points for you? How can I improve them? And retrospectively look into what's working, what needs to be improved. So those two main steps of understanding their work and how they work is very important. You need to understand the intersection between development and or engineering and user research.
