Hall's new mission was to train resistance groups in sabotage and guerrilla warfare. By August 1944, she helps liberate an entire French department from the Germans. She captured hundreds of Nazis and claimed to have killed 150. In December 1945, Hall became the only civilian woman to be awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
