In may 18 o, three the igbo people of nigeria were stolen as captives and arrived in savannah, georgia to enter the slave trade. The men died by a mass suicide, supposedly still in their chains. Hundreds of years ago, a woman named mary lost her betrothed to a violent storm,. Horrified and heartsick, she ran into the waves, perhaps on a horse, and died. There's now a rumor of a wandering lover haunting the shores of saint simon's island. She can be seen in the evenings walking up and down the beach with a lantern. A widower knew that his wife was terrified of the dark, so he visited her
