Kim Jongil's Purge
Kim jongil is actively building a power base in the workers party, one that will serve him well in future. Kim jange was very good at keeping things secret and keeping his cards close to his chest. He would try and implant people who were of his age, of his circle at gonet o university, with him in posts that were opening up. And slowly, he would build his own little circle of influence within the party. When the time came, as the leader's son, kim jongIL is the front runner, but it's by no means a done deal that his father will name him his successor.
