The FAA cut new air traffic controller hires in half from 1000 to 500. There's also a problem with the demands, I think, that you were spelling out in your notes for co-pilots,. And so that is making it harder to find them. On the pilot side, the US years ago moved the mandatory retirement age from 60 to 65 for airline pilots and the rest of the world matched us.
