Ficte's idea is that if we take the self-positing eye as this basis, then we can deduce from that the entire Kantian system. For Ficte, it's not even an eye that knows itself. It's an eye that is active out in the world. So it's through the practice of the self- positing eye that we come to all of our theoretical insights and laws about the limitations upon knowledge.
