The Curse of the Mummy
Oded Fair plays Arthith Bay, the alias that the Mummy goes by in the original film. He introduces himself as historian. It's a big old exposition dump in the beginning done through narration by the Magi. And then lo and behold, they're like, I guess we'll do it to Emotap which is just mummifying him in a shot that looks very similar to Boris Karloff being mummified in the original. So he's basically just because they bury him alive and I think the ritual kind of makes him immortal almost.
