The Unfairness of Paying for Influence

Twitter is not primarily a platform that helps people monetize their influence. If you want one of your posts to receive more engagement, you can pay for it. You can pay thousands of dollars or millions of dollars if you really wanted to. All of these social media platforms are based on who has the most money wins. It seems unfair because there's no way in heck that Twitter used to be built up this way.
