kings also don't really owe anybody anything I think this is an amazing underrated features of monarchy in democracies particular lobby groups and influence groups managed to have influence over elections. So every four years or every five years you're getting a new guy who is supposedly the reader of the entire country but he's also especially beholden to these small minority groups that will have outside influence. so yes he's out there looking out for you but you know he's looking out for corn farmers more than you, even though it's bad for you. You can't get elected in the US unless you're hand out money to corn and the result is the US is essentially aCorn colony.
