The Importance of Early Warning for the El Nino in China
El Nino events in 2009 also resulted in another severe drought in South Western China between the fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010. So as we are witnessing another El Nino events this year and last year, some scientists say that we should be prepared. Richard Brubaker: Early warning is very important because the onset of flash droughts can be very quick. He says it may raise challenges for drought monitoring and prediction.
