The Four Day Workweek Is a Serious Idea

The four day work week is a serious idea, but if we're going to make it work, we have to treat it seriously. People often point to iceland as evidence that a country can implement this change, but go take a look at what they did. They organized a multi year trial experimenting with a portion of the federal work force and in partnership with many trade unions. And when it was shown to be a success, many companies in the country just voluntarily made the switch on their own. If we want o change work, we need to approach it realistically, because change doesn't happen in four days.
