The Moral Life of Anger
Anger can tempt us to selfishness in seeking revenge and fear motivated by pleasure. Envy is a passion, yet it's not on the list of things Aquinas defines as pain and sorrow. Anger serves the moral life when we don't get angry immediately, but make a clear judgment about the situation upon considering all the relevant fact. Then anger can energize a response as we seek just punishment to correct the right wrongs.
