Introduction

This is part four of the life of Julius caesar. In this episode, we look at what happened after he conquered gaul and brought it under roman rule. He was bitterly opposed by a group of senators called the optimits. They hated him because he sought power by currying favor with the common people,. The optimates held more power in the senate. So instead of preparing to treat him like the conquering hero that he was - they abused his supporters  and stripped them of their power.
