Is the Psychic Mailstrom Really Real?

The psychic mailstrom just feels like it's there. It doesn't feel like its, it has a pes beyond just kind of being there. In second edition the threat map is a there's eight directions, am, and you met, literally met. Fronts are in use in first edition, but no addition, they became threats,. I've got first editiono so i've got second but i think it's the same thing. Instead of stadding up a guy who has abilities that parallel a character's abilities, instead we have an amorphous situation which needs to be dealt with.
