When King Henry VIII abandoned Catherine of Aragon, rumors started that Anne Boleyn had bewitched the king. Rumors were used by others to paint her as a witch. Her miscarriage in 1536 was even used as proof of these witchcraft accusations. Today it's clear that there is no evidence that a love spell was ever involved in her relationship with King Henry VIII.
