i think that the preoccupation with reputation can very easily distract from the substance of the thing that you're seeking reputation about. But on the other hand, as i say, once you've got going with a group that's trying to do something good, signalling that you are all trying to do that good thing, its one of the things that holds it together. So we seem to have a lot of agreement such that, is it good to be want to be seen to be good? It depends on the circumstance. We at least seem to all agree on that much. Let's start by getting into the fundamental ethical issue. There's ere's a strong strain in ethical philosophy.
